Yogurt contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid or AHA, that dissolves dead skin cells. Not only that, but you can save a lot of money, instead of buying expensive skin-care products that contains AHA. A yogurt face mask or just putting some natural yogurt on your face for a couple minutes can do wonders to your skin! So here’s a few great benefits of yogurt for your skin.

By applying just a simple yogurt face mask a few times a week, you can have silky smooth and moisturized skin. Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which is a natural lactic acid in the yogurt helps exfoliate and smooth the skin out.

Fights Acne

Yogurt has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which is great for acne-prone skin, and zinc which can help in healing acne blemishes.

Sunburn Relief

Thanks to the zinc that’s in natural yogurt, you can relieve your sunburn by adding a few drops of melaleuca essential oil to a small amount of yogurt and apply it to your face for 15 minutes. The zinc will help cool the sunburn.

Reduces Wrinkles And Fine Lines

Combat those wrinkles and fine lines by doing a weekly yogurt scrub. The lactic acid in the yogurt works well as an exfoliator by removing the topmost layer of dead cells, revealing brighter and younger skin.

2 Tbsp of yogurt

1 Tbsp of honey

1 Tbsp of turmeric



  1. Give yourself a blank canvas by having a clean freshly washed face.
  2. Apply the mixture evenly on your face and neck
  3. Wait 15 minutes.
  4. Rinse it off
  5. (optional) Because the turmeric may stain your face a little, try using coconut oil to remove the stain or makeup removal pads.

The yogurt face mask will help moisturize, fight acne, prevent premature aging, relieve sunburn, and reduce discoloration all at the same time. It’s pretty much an all-around beauty multi-tasker. The mask may be used 2-3 times per week.
