Your Dirty Makeup Brush May be Causing Your Breakouts

Your Dirty Makeup Brush May be Causing Your Breakouts

Learning more about the skin has allowed me to see the mistakes that I’ve made over and over in the past with my makeup routines. I would rarely wash my makeup brushes, but I would still apply them on my face everyday. These would be the same makeup brushes I would use throughout the day to freshen up whenever my makeup would get oily.

I can only imagine what those brushes were depositing into my pores.  I cringe at the thought of it now. If this sounds familiar to you, then this may be the reason for your breakouts.

“You can risk irritation, acne, clogged pores, bacterial infectious skin diseases and even viral infections”

Although I put my skin at such a high risk of breakouts and bacterial skin infections, my skin has always held itself together. Maybe a few zits here and there. But not everyone can be this lucky. Especially those with sensitive or oily skin. You can risk irritation, acne, clogged pores, bacterial infectious skin diseases and even viral infections if it gets in open areas of your face like your mouth, eyes and nose.

You could be doing major damage to your face if you are washing it then applying your makeup right after with brushes that has been hoarding bacteria and makeup from weeks ago. This isn’t giving your skin any time breathe. That bacteria is being put back into your pores while they are at their most vulnerable state.

Ladies don’t be like me. I’ve definitely learned my lesson since then. There are so many tools out there that can help simplify your makeup brush cleaning routine. From cleansing mats and sprays to makeup brush cleaning kits.

Your Dirty Makeup Brush May be Causing Your Breakouts. Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat and Cleaning Glove

That way it doesn’t seem like a hassle to complete when it’s time to clean them. I strongly recommend a cleaning mat like the one I use at home. Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mat and Cleaning Glove are made of silicone which means they’re easy to clean. You add your favorite makeup cleaning spray to the mat or glove with some water and rotate the brushes on the mat until the makeup is gone. Dry them a little with a towel and sit them aside until the next day. Upside-down at best. A quick 5-minute routine can save your skin from so many breakouts.
