Winter is over and I’m super excited for the warm weather coming in. I’ve already started shopping and planning trips for this summer. But what’s really important is what I’m planning on doing when it comes to taking good care of my skin and how I can protect it from the sunny weather. So easily do we forget to wear sunscreen. Crazy thing is it can actual be crucial for us- and here’s why!
Overexposure to the sun can lead to:
- free radical damage
- lost of collagen and elastin
- capillary damage
- skin cancer
The sun is the number one cause of aging. So if you’re not wearing sunscreen you are aging faster than a person that is. Full spectrum sunscreen is used to protect you from the UVA and UVB rays.
Just when you think tanning beds are safer, they’re actually not. Tanning beds have 12 times the dosage of the sun. Which means it is 12 times more harmful for your skin.
Sunscreen can act as a shield to protect us from the sun. The higher the SPF the higher the protection. Keep in mind that doubling the SPF does not double the protection. A SPF should range between 15 to 50, with 50 providing you with the most protection from the sun’s rays.
